It is estimated that about 13 million Americans are affected by a thyroid disorder. Thyroid disease affects more women than men. In fact, an estimated one in eight women will develop a thyroid disorder at some time in her life. The three most common thyroid problems are hypothyroid (underactive thyroid), hyperthyroid (overactive thyroid) and thyroid nodules.

Thyroid hormone has an effect on the body's organs, tissues and cells. Thyroid hormones regulate the body's metabolism, heart rate, blood pressure, cholesterol level, energy level, muscle strength, skin condition, vision, menstrual regularity, mental state and are critical for skeletal and nervous system development.

When the thyroid gland does not function properly, a variety of symptoms can occur including fatigue, weight gain, anxiety, muscle cramps, weakness, menstrual irregularity, constipation, dry skin, thinning hair and loss of sex drive. A thyroid disorder can also cause miscarriage and infertility.

Healthy thyroid functioning can make a big difference in the quality of life. Vitalogic Thyroid Formula is designed to promote optimal thyroid functioning by nourishing the thyroid gland.

Key Ingredients

  • Tyrosine, one of the 20 amino acids that form the building blocks of proteins, is found in large quantities in casein, a milk protein. The name "tyrosine" is derived from the Greek word "tyros", which means cheese. Tyrosine is the precursor for a number of the body's hormones (thyroid hormones, dopamine, epinephrin and norepinephrin), neurotransmitters (dopamine and norepinephrin) and the pigment melanin.

Ashwagandha, belonging to the tomato family, predominantly grows in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Ashwaganda in Sanskrit means "horse smell" probably because the odor of its root resembles the smell of a sweaty horse. Ashwaganda extract works on the HPA (Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Adrenal) axis and the neuroendocrine system. Studies have also shown that Ashwaganda extract has a positive effect on the thyroid gland.

Forskolin is a compound found in the Indian Coleus plant (Coleus Forskohlii). Forskolin is able to raise the levels of cyclic AMP (Adenosine mono-phosphate), a messenger molecule that is important for cell-cell communication and for the proper biological response to hormones and neurotransmitters.
